No Fan in Heat Mode

in Thermostat HVAC and Wiring

Why is my fan not coming on in heat mode?

QuickTip – ButtonSelect_sm > MAIN MENU> SETTINGS> INSTALLER SETUP> EQUIPMENT SETTINGS

In gas furnaces it is common for the furnace to turn on the fan when the heat is on, but in electric thermostats, the thermostat may need to turn the fan on.  If your fan is not turning on when your heat is on, follow these steps to change your FAN ON IN HEAT setting to YES.

  1. Press the ButtonSelect_sm button to wake up the thermostat, and press it again to display the main menu.
  2. Use the ButtonDown_sm button to highlight the SETTINGS menu, and then press the ButtonSelect_sm button.
  3. Use the ButtonDown_sm button to highlight the INSTALLER SETUP menu, and then press the ButtonSelect_sm button.
  4. Press the ButtonSelect_sm button to select the EQUIPMENT SETTINGS menu.
  5. Use the ButtonUp_sm or ButtonDown_sm buttons to choose your equipment settings and the ü button to move to the next screen.
    • FAN ON IN HEAT is the 8th option for a conventional system.
    • Use the ButtonUp_sm or ButtonDown_sm buttons to choose YES for the FAN ON IN HEAT SETTING and the ButtonSelect_sm button to move to the next screen.
  6. Use the ButtonUp_sm button to highlight YES and the ButtonSelect_sm button to save the changes.
  7. Use the ButtonUp_sm or ButtonDown_sm buttons and the ButtonSelect_sm button to enter the installer password “INST” to validate the changes.
