Override Energy Event

How do I override an Energy Event from my Utility?

If you are participating in an energy saving program with your electrical utility, they can send a message to your thermostat to adjust your temperature to save energy during times of peak usage.  During an energy event, the blue light will be on and you will see the words “ENERGY EVENT” under the current temperature on the thermostat home screen.

  • If it is a voluntary energy event and you are too hot or cold, you can use ButtonUp_sm or ButtonDown_sm buttons from the home screen to change the target temperature.  You will be prompted if you want to override the event, select “Apply Change Now” to adjust the temperature and the blue light will go out.
  • If it is a mandatory energy event, you will not be able to adjust the temperature until the event is over.
