How do I fix the HōlHōm connection to my smart meter?

If you see an “X” or “W” beside the signal bars in the top right corner of your HōlHōm , it means HōlHōm is not communicating to your smart meter.  You will also see HVAC instead of HOME cost per hour in your energy display.  You will need to reset your HōlHōm security keys and connect it to your smart meter again.

Follow these steps to reset your ZigBee security keys.

  1. Press the ButtonSelect_sm button to wake up the thermostat, and press it again to display the main menu.
  2. Use the ButtonDown_sm button to highlight the SETTINGS menu, and then press the ButtonSelect_sm button.
  3. Use the ButtonDown_sm button to highlight the INSTALLER SETUP menu, and then press the ButtonSelect_sm button.
  4. Use theButtonDown_sm button to highlight the ZIGBEE menu, and then press the ButtonSelect_sm button.
  5. Use the ButtonDown_sm button to highlight the RESET SECURITY KEYS menu, and then press the ButtonSelect_sm
  6. Use the ButtonDown_sm button to select YES and then press the ButtonSelect_sm button.
  7. Use the ButtonDown_sm button to enter the installer password.
  8. Use the ButtonDown_sm or ButtonUp_sm buttons and the ButtonSelect_sm button to enter the installer password “INST” to validate the changes.

Once your security keys have been reset, you will need to follow the process with your utility to delete your HōlHōm from your smart meter and add it again – see Get Started, Step 4a – HōlHōm Smart Meter Connection.
